A small daily game for movie lovers

6 Degrees of Connection is a free daily puzzle that tests how well you know movies and the people in them. Every day you get two actors who have never shared a film, and you try to link them through the movies and TV shows they've made, in six moves or fewer.

The game borrows its premise from Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, the trivia game built on the "six degrees of separation" idea that any two people are linked by a short chain of acquaintances. In Hollywood that chain is usually even shorter than you'd expect.

Who makes it

The site is built and run by an independent developer as a passion project. There are no accounts or sign-ups. Open the page and play.

How the daily puzzle works

Each day's pair is chosen automatically from a pool of well-known actors. The game checks that the two have never appeared in the same movie, so there's always at least one link to find. Everyone in the same time zone gets the same puzzle.

Movie data

Cast lists, filmographies and photos for movies and TV come from The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Actor names and images are used only to identify the people in the puzzle and don't imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.
